Discovering Pilates

Stacy headshot I was first introduced to Pilates mat classes in 2005, and became so captivated by it that I began taking equipment, mat, and private sessions three times a week. It did not take long for me to notice definite benefits from my Pilates practice — it strengthened my core, improved my posture, and gave me a renewed confidence in my body. Pilates also helped me to safely exercise through pregnancy and helped me get back into shape after having two children.

Becoming an Instructor

My reason for becoming an instructor was simple … to share my enthusiasm for Pilates with others and help them see the positive impact it can make on one’s health. Nothing makes me happier than to watch my clients develop better body awareness, a stronger core, and increase their flexibility. Pilates is truly an outstanding form of exercise that can be done by anyone, regardless of age or condition.

My Training and Experience

I have trained with Marissa Lins, owner of Midwest Pilates Institute and Madison Pilates in Madison, WI; and Virginia Nicholas, M.A., R.N. owner of Pilates Core Integration and Moving Breath Pilates in Tempe, AZ. In January 2009, I successfully completed the 450-hour Pilates Core Integration Comprehensive Teacher Training program. In 2015, I gained my PMA certification. My training also includes taking various Pilates workshops with other instructors from across the country.

My experience includes working with individuals recovering from injury, spinal imbalances, autoimmune disorders, expecting mothers, and athletes.
